Hubbard man charged after threatening police officers

HUBBARD

David Deiley, 40, of Hubbard, is charged with aggravated menacing after being accused of threatening to kill police officers Friday night, according to a police report.

Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Drummond Avenue after a caller reported a conflict between Deiley and his son.

When officers arrived, they heard yelling, and the officers ordered Deiley to come outside when he appeared at the door.

Deiley ran farther into the house, and when officers entered, he yelled at them to leave.

When officers asked to see Deiley’s hands, he wouldn’t comply and told officers they would have to shoot him, the report said.

Upon hearing the commotion, Deiley’s son tried to enter the room, but officers held him back, and the son tripped and fell, the report said.

Then, Deiley threatened to kill the officers for touching his son.

Deiley charged at an officer, at which point he was hit with a stun weapon and detained by the officer, the report said.

Police said Deiley told the officers if they are bringing more cruisers to the house that they’d better bring guns, and police said they noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from him.

Paramedics arrived to assess Dailey, and he was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

Deiley also was charged with misdemeanors for inducing panic, obstructing official business and not keeping his dog under reasonable control after it bit an officer.
