'Hey cop, I see you chasing me, so what!'

AUSTINTOWN — A man rolled down his window during a car chase and while driving looked back at the officer pursuing - more than once - police said.

Police tried to pull a man over for not using a signal while turning onto Mahoning Avenue Monday evening, according to the report. The car sped off, and an officer followed.

The driver, Jonathan Brown, 50, of Rosemont Avenue, pulled suddenly into Periscoop Submarine, 3101 Mahoning Ave., got out of the vehicle, and headed toward the business, ignoring police orders to stay in the car, according to the report.

Brown told police, “I didn’t stop because I wanted to get my girlfriend her car back,” and said he didn’t want to risk her car being towed.

Brown was cited for a suspended driver’s license, failure to use a turn signal, and is charged with failure to comply.
