Hearing set in election-fraud lawsuit
YOUNGSTOWN
A hearing in Sean McKinney’s election fraud lawsuit is set for 10:30 a.m. Feb. 2 with visiting Judge Patricia A. Cosgrove presiding in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.
McKinney, who lost November’s mayoral election to Youngstown Mayor Jamael Tito Brown, claims widespread voter fraud occurred last year and seeks a new election.
Likely to be discussed Friday are a host of subpoenas McKinney’s lawyers sent to Brown and several current and former county officials compelling them to appear for depositions.
Attorneys for those subpoenaed filed subsequent motions to quash the subpoenas and the matter awaits Judge Cosgrove’s ruling.
