Campbell schools to host Math 24 competition


CAMPBELL

Campbell Elementary and Middle School will host the county-wide Math 24 competition for the fourth consecutive year at 6 p.m. today .

Each participating school district will bring several groups of students from grades one through nine to compete in a series of math challenges.

The Math 24 challenge is a tournament-style competition organized around the game “24.” The game objective is to use math equations to get to 24 from the numbers provided. Students from several county schools have prepared in class and formed teams to compete.

The event is made possible by the support of the Michael “Mickey” Soroka Foundation, who sponsors Math 24, and multiple volunteers, such as the Youngstown State University students who help proctor. Parents and family members are invited to attend.
