BOYS BASKETBALL
McDonald, LaBrae crack Top 10 on poll
The LaBrae and McDonald high school boys basketball teams cracked the Top 10 in their divisions in the first state poll released by the Associated Press on Monday. In Division III, LaBrae (7-0) received 57 points to earn eighth place. South Range (10-0), which defeated McDonald last week, received 20 points to finish 14th. LaBrae and South Range each received two first-place votes. In Div. IV, McDonald (8-1) is ranked second with 94 points. Fort Loramie (10-0) is first with 127 points. The Blue Devils received one first-place vote. In Div. II, undefeated Poland is 16th with 20 points. The Bulldogs received one first-place vote

MOGADORE
Valley Christian went on a 22-8 run in the fourth quarter to put away Mogadore. Kristen Gill led the Eagles with 22 points and NeSyiah Taylor added 16 points. Imane and India Snyder put up 13 and 12 points, respectively. Preslie Halliwill led Mogadore with 24 points.
Western Reserve 80, Sebring 20
BERLIN CENTER
Western Reserve led 21-6 after the end of the first quarter. Alexis Hughes led all scorers with 25 points while Laura Sigworth had 13. Olivia Woods led Sebring with 10 points.
Mathews 56, Newbury 48
VIENNA
Emily Strama led the Mustangs with a double-double (20 points and 11 rebounds). Ashley Dean had eight points, 11 rebounds and six steals. For Newbury, Hannah Grubbs led the way with 14 points.
Lordstown 47, Grand Valley 42
ORWELL
Lordstown was led by the combination of Kellee Applegate and Kaylynn Higinbotham. Applegate scored a team-high 11 points while Higinbotham had 10. Abby Triskett led Grand Valley with 18 points.
