Staff report
WARREN
A community concert to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley and the Jason Grimaldi Fund will take place at 6 p.m. today at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish.
The concert will feature seven local choirs performing a variety of songs at the parish, 2352 Burton St. SE in Warren.
Admission to the event is free, but a free-will offering will be accepted at the door to benefit the two charities.
The Jason Grimaldi Fund honors former volunteer McDonald firefighter Grimaldi who died last year of a stroke. The fund will establish scholarships for young men and women to receive firefighter training.
The food bank solicits, stores, and distributes food to hunger-relief organizations in Columbiana, Mahoning, and Trumbull counties; it fills about 15,000 food requests weekly.
The concert is sponsored by Singles Support Group.
