Food sales and dinners for the week of Jan. 1

TODAY

Holy Family Parish, 2729 Center Road, Poland, will host a cavatelli dinner from 2:30 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. Menu includes cavatelli with homemade sauce, two meatballs, tossed salad, bread and butter and cookies. Cost is $10. Smaller portion of cavatelli and one meatball is $5. Fresh homemade pasta fagioli is $6 a quart, and homemade pasta sauce is $5 a quart. Takeout only. Place your order, remain in your car and your dinner will be delivered to you.

THURSDAY

St. Jude Women's Guild, 180 Seventh St., Columbiana, offers drive-through dinners from 4 to 6 p.m. (or until sold out) the first Thursday every month. The menu will include stuffed peppers, homemade mashed potatoes, homemade applesauce, roll and butter and dessert. Cost is $8, and all proceeds go to the “Rebuilding Together in Faith, Hope & Love” campaign to renovate and expand the church.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, is selling potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $7 per dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-in orders are welcome.

Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, will host a drive-through or dine-in Swiss steak dinner from 4 p.m. until sold out. Menu also includes mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, applesauce, roll, and cake. Cost is $9.

FRIDAY

Canfield Lions Club will have a fish fry from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. Meals include a choice of baked or fried fish; french fries, macaroni and cheese, pirogi or haluski; and coleslaw, green beans, roll, dessert and beverage. The cost is $11.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $11 for adults and $6 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.75. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. by calling 330-792-1005.

SATURDAY

Vienna United Methodist Church, 4265 Warren-Sharon Road, will host a Swiss steak dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. Menu includes, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, coleslaw, applesauce, bread and butter, beverage and homemade dessert. Cost is $9.50 for adults, $5 for children age 5 to 12 and children 4 and under eat for free. The church is handicap accessible. Takeouts are available. SUNDAY

Knights of Columbus 3930 is sponsoring a sausage and pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4500 Norquest Blvd., Austintown. Menu includes sausage and a variety of all-you-can-eat pancakes and beverages. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12.

Pacentrano Club, 2629 Craiger Ave., will serve spaghetti dinners from noon to 4 p.m. every Sunday during football season. The dinners are $8 each for sit-down or $9 each for takeout. For information or to place takeout orders, call 330-788-3393.

TAKING ORDERS

Smith Corners United Methodist Church, 3000 S. Canfield Niles Road, Austintown, is taking orders for vegetable soup. Cost is $6 per quart. Orders are required by calling the church at 330-799-9390. Pickup will take place Jan. 26 and 27.

UPCOMING

Good Hope Lutheran Church, 12030 Market St., North Lima, will host an all-you-can-eat soup and salad dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Jan. 13. Menu includes five types of soup, salad, beverage and dessert. Carryout available for a quart of soup only, which is $8. Cost for adults is $9, children age 7 to 12 are $4, and children under 6 eat for free. Proceeds will benefit Sojourner House. Lord of Life Church, 550 N. Broad St., Canfield, will offer drive-through chicken dinners from 3 to 6 p.m. Jan. 25. Menu includes chicken Parmesan, spaghetti, three-bean salad, roll with butter and cake. Cost is $9. Cash only. Proceeds will go toward ministry expenses. Patrons will receive $1 off the purchase price if a can of vegetables is given to donate to the Rescue Mission or other organization. Drive to the back door to be served. VFW Post 2799 Auxiliary, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will offer a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Jan. 11. Menu includes spaghetti, meatballs, salad, Italian bread, and coffee or tea. Cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12.They also will offer a homestyle breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Jan. 21. Menu includes eggs, hash browns, sausage or ham, pancakes, freedom toast, toast, and coffee or tea. Cost is $6 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12.
