Cruise marks the Brenners’ anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. David Brenner of Canfield celebrated their 50th anniversary on a seven-day Western Carribean cruise that was hosted by their children during the Christmas holiday.

Their children are Dr. Amy Brenner Cox (Kevin) of West Chester; Susan Brenner Hughes (Jason) of Anderson; and David H. Brenner (Sara) of Las Vegas, Nev. Grandchildren are Taylor, Avery and Andrew Cox of West Chester; Ethan, Sam and Charlotte Hughes of Anderson; and Kate, Jane and Gwen Brenner of Las Vegas.

The former Marilyn Pipoly and Mr. Brenner were married Dec. 2, 1967, at St. Dominic Church, Youngstown. They renewed their vows earlier this year at St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown.

Mrs. Brenner graduated from Ohio University and earned a master’s degree from Youngstown State University. She was an elementary school teacher for Youngstown Schools for 30 years, retiring in 2007.

Mr. Brenner graduated from Bowling Green University and received his master’s degree from Westminster College. He retired in 2002 from Boardman Local Schools where he was a science teacher and coach for 35 years. After retirement, he coached girls soccer for West Branch Schools and was head assistant women’s soccer coach at Westminster College.
