YSU softball team drops two games

The Youngstown State softball team dropped a pair of games on Sunday to close out the Hampton Tournament. The Penguins lost to Buffalo, 9-6, and Hampton, 4-2.
The Penguins (4-5) went 2-3 at the Hampton Tournament.
Against Buffalo, the Penguins jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first after Nikki Saibene clobbered a three-run home run to right-center field. The Bulls plated two runs in the bottom of the second, but Maddi Lusk’s two-run home run in the top of the third pushed the Penguins lead to 5-2.
The Bulls used a four-run fifth inning to take a 6-5
In the second game, senior Hannah Lucas had two hits while Saibene belted her third home run of the season, a solo shot.
