Struthers will celebrate Right to Read week

STRUTHERS

Struthers Elementary School will celebrate Right to Read week with a visit from children’s author and former Columbus Zoo administrator, Dr. John Becker at 8 a.m. Monday. He will take students on a “safari” while bringing his wildlife stories, based on his adventures in Africa, to life. He also will share how he finds inspiration to write and give students tips. Students also will have guest readers visit Wednesday. The winners of the school read-a-thon challenge will enjoy time in the bounce house provided by the PTA. The school will end the week with the third annual Book Parade through the halls Friday at 12:45 p.m. Students are asked to create a poster with an image, scene or character(s) from favorite books to use during the parade. Students also will take part in independent reading for 10 to 20 minutes each day.
