Film made in Valley to premiere at Encore

“3, the Movie,” a feature-length film by Mahoning Valley filmmaker David Walker, will get its premiere screening at 5 p.m. Sunday at Encore Cinema, in Great East Plaza. Tickets are $10.

“3” is a series three short and unrelated films with a combined run time of two hours. Two of the three short films were shot in the Mahoning Valley. All were written and directed by Walker, of Niles.

Andrew Bard is the cinematographer and film editor.

Here is a look at the shorts:

“Help Me,” starring Carla Mays and Cassandra Leavell, It is about a young socialite who is caught off guard when she is pulled into a conflict between people she has never met. This unsuspecting victim is forced to choose between two contradicting stories, which leaves everyone questioning who the “bad guy” really is.

“Keep Quiet,” starring Jessica Thomas, Alex DeCourville, Taylor Adams and Eileen Lorene, was shot in Cleveland. It is about two friends who get pulled into a situation when another friend goes on a blind date. Each has a decision to make that will change their lives forever.

“About Face,” starring Dru Scott and Olivia R Queener. It looks in on a war veteran who is faced with the reality that his life is forever changed.
