History conference


YOUNGSTOWN

The Valerie Waksmunski Starr History Across the Humanities Conference will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor (Steel Museum) on Wood Street on the campus of Youngstown State University.

The keynote speaker is Leonne Hudson, associate professor of history at Kent State University. Hudson has a research project in progress on the reaction of black soldiers to the death of Abraham Lincoln. Hudson speaks at 4 p.m. Thursday. His talk is free.
