JA plans Bowl-a-thon

AUSTINTOWN

Junior Achievement will kick off its 25th annual Bowl-a-thon from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Wedgewood Lanes, 1741 S. Raccoon Road.

The event is Junior Achievement of Mahoning Valley’s largest fundraiser of the year. This year’s theme is Great American Bowl-a-thon Challenge: Red, White and Blue. Participants have the option of dressing in themed attire for a chance of winning additional prizes.

Employees from General Motors Lordstown Complex, UAW Local 1112, UAW Local 1714, Chemical Bank, HBK CPAs & Consultants, Advantage Video Productions and Leadership Mahoning Valley will all be participating.

Additional bowl-a-thon events for this year are scheduled for May 8 at Camelot Lanes in Boardman. The goal is to raise $30,000 at this year’s bowling events.
