Boy treated after fire

YOUNGSTOWN

A 1-year-old boy is being treated for a burnt ear and smoke inhalation after a fire at a 540 Harmon Ave. home Friday afternoon. Youngstown firefighters say seven children were home alone when the fire began.

Neighbors, however, tell 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner, at least one person in the house was in their 20s. They say she’s the one who had no choice but to drop the baby from the roof outside of an upstairs window.

Fire officials said a fire broke out in the living room of the South Side home. Firefighters said the blaze appears to be accidental. A fire official said the home was a total loss.
