Woman’s wedding gown after mix-up leaves it missing for 32 years
WILLOWICK
An Ohio woman had given up hope of seeing her wedding dress again after a dry cleaner mix-up three decades ago until her daughter’s friend saw photos of the dress on Facebook.
Michelle Havrilla was nearly speechless after getting the dress back last week for the first time since her 1985 wedding.
Her dress was put in the wrong box by a now-defunct dry cleaner in Willowick and stored in another family’s attic.
The Akron Beacon Journal reports Ame Bartlebaugh found the dress when she went looking for her mother’s wedding dress.
She posted about the mix-up on Facebook, and Havrilla was reunited with the dress within a day.
Beyonce photo captures grandmother’s reaction
SHREWSBURY, Mass.
A Massachusetts grandmother worried that no one would believe her story of meeting Beyonce before the Grammys – until a picture of her star-struck reaction appeared on the singer’s Instagram page .
The picture shows Beyonce and Jay-Z strolling down a hotel hallway past Shrewsbury resident Susan Monaghan, her mouth agape as she stands aside to let the celebrity couple pass.
Monaghan told the Boston Globe that all she could think as the singer smiled at her was, “No one is going to believe me.”
Her daughter, Jenn Hiitt, confirms that she was skeptical of the story. But the next day, she got a text saying that Monaghan’s picture was circulating online.
Dead goose falls from sky, knocks hunter out
EASTON, Md.
A waterfowl hunter is in stable condition after a dead goose fell from the sky and knocked him out.
Robert Meilhammer of Dorchester County was hunting with three other people when one of them fired at a flock of Canada geese overhead in Easton, near the Miles River on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
Maryland Natural Resources Police spokeswoman Candy Thomson said a falling goose hit Meilhammer, knocking him out and causing head and facial injuries.
The Washington Post reports that when he came to, he knew who he was, but “little else,” according to a Natural Resources police officer.
The agency tweeted that Meilhammer was in stable condition and awaiting more tests at a Baltimore trauma center.
