Rite Aid, dollar store robbed in Y’town

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown police say the description of a black male who robbed the Dollar General store at 1370 Belmont Ave. about 8:20 a.m. Sunday morning fits that of the man who robbed the Rite Aide on East Midlothian Boulevard about 6 p.m. Saturday.

The suspect, described as being about 25, 5-feet-6-inches tall and weighing 150 pounds, stole about $900 from Rite and about $179 from Dollar General, according to police reports.

In both instances, the thief said he had a gun and demanded money. However, a weapon was not seen. After robbing the Dollar General, the suspect fled on foot south on Belmont, police said.
