Warren woman gets prison time in death of 3-year-old boy

WARREN — Lynette Talley will spend seven years in prison after pleading guilty today in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court to involuntary manslaughter in the death of a 3-year-old boy in her care.

Talley, 64, of Southern Boulevard Northwest, was originally charged with murder in the boy’s May 8, 2017, death after the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death a homicide, the result of blunt-force trauma to the head.

Talley was watching the boy, Amari D. Allen, and three younger children at the time and said the boy hit his head on the floor after choking on food, but the medical examiner’s office said that is not what caused the boy’s death.
