Beeghly Oaks had their annual Christmas party on Dec. 20 in their building in Boardman.

Director of Recreation Traci McCoy organized the party with the other members of the staff. They decorated the entire building for the month. They set up decorative trees in the halls, including two made from plastic cups at the entrance of the building. They also covered many of the walls with wrapping paper and drew snowflakes on the windows.

“It’s to make them happy,“ McCoy said. “Who doesn’t like a good Christmas party?“

Entertainer Dave Pound sang Christmas carols for the residents. He asked them to sing along through the songs. He also told jokes throughout his set. The staff made sure that everyone had room and could see Pound during his presentation.

The staff made cookies and drinks for the event. They set trays out for residents to take themselves, but the staff also walked around to pass out cookies and drinks while Pound played.

They also invited Santa to the Beeghly campus. He met with the residents individually and the staff took photos of the residents with Santa.

The staff had a number of gifts which they gave the residents on Christmas. They spent about a month planning out the party and decorating.
