Police warn of scam

GIRARD - The police department is warning people of a scam. On a Facebook post, the department said a woman got a call that she thought was from her grandson, and the caller stated he was a passenger in his friend’s car, but the police found drugs in the trunk and he said he needed $6,000 cash to post bond. The department asks anyone who gets a call similar to this to refrain from giving them money and to give the department a call so they can look into it.
