Joel Berry II scored 21 points and North Carolina rallied from 12 down in the first half to beat Duke. Kenny Williams made six 3-pointers and matched his career high with 20 points for the Tar Heels (18-7, 7-5 Atlantic Coast Conference), who roared out of halftime with a 16-2 run that erased what was left of Duke’s early lead. Cameron Johnson added 18 points and 13 rebounds, helping the Tar Heels overcome the Blue Devils’ significant size advantage to own the glass (28-17) after halftime. Gary Trent Jr. scored 16 points to lead the Blue Devils (19-5, 7-4). They have lost two straight.

No. 16 Clemson 72, Pitt 48

CLEMSON, S.C.

Gabe DeVoe matched his career high with 25 points, helping Clemson beat Pittsburgh. DeVoe was 7 for 11 from 3-point range. Shelton Mitchell made three 3s on his way to 12 points, and Elijah Thomas had 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Tigers (20-4, 9-3 Atlantic Coast Conference). Terrell Brown led Pitt (8-17, 0-12) with 19 points on 9-of-15 shooting.

Northern Kentucky 54, Milwaukee 52

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, KY.

Drew McDonald’s jumper with 90 seconds left proved to be the game winner as Northern Kentucky held onto a share of the Horizon League lead. The Norse entered the game tied with Wright State. The Raiders beat Green Bay, 68-64. Brock Stull hit a 3 with under 11 minutes left to give the Panthers a 39-36 lead, but McDonald made three straight field goals to give the Norse a 42-39 advantage, and after Bryce Nze’s layup, Tyler Sharpe hit back-to-back 3s to make it 48-41. McDonald answered a Bryce Barnes 3 with a jumper to give the Norse a 54-50 lead with 1:23 left. Barnes hit a jumper with 1:02 left, but they were the final points of the game. McDonald finished with 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Northern Kentucky (18-7, 11-2). Sharpe added 12 points. Barnes finished with 13 points to lead Milwaukee (13-14, 6-8).

Wright State 68, Green Bay 64

Grant Benzinger and Jaylon Hall each hit back-to-back 3-pointers as Wright State made up an 11-point gap in less than two minutes and then held off an upset-minded Green bay. Wright State remains tied atop the Horizon League with Northern Kentucky, which was also taken to the wire Thursday, eking out a 54-52 win over Milwaukee. Benzinger scored 22 points, including four 3-pointers. Hall added 16 points with three treys and Ursuline High School graduate Mark Hughes added 13 points with 14 rebounds, and Wright State (19-7, 11-2 Horizon League) battled to the win despite shooting 33 percent (21 of 64). Green Bay (10-17, 5-9) had twice built 11-point leads on the Horizon co-leader, the last coming with just under 11 minutes remaining when Khalil Small hit two 3-pointers in a row. The teams were never more than five points apart over the last nine minutes.

IUPUI 78, Cleveland State 73

INDIANAPOLIS

T.J. Henderson only missed twice all night, scoring 19 points as IUPUI halted a five-game slide by holding off Cleveland State. Henderson was 5 of 7 from the field and made all nine of his free throws, including a final pair with eight seconds remaining as the Jaguars held on. Cleveland State had steadily whittled a 30-point IUPUI lead down to 73-71 with 25 seconds left to play. Aaron Brennan scored 17 points for IUPUI (8-16, 5-8 Horizon League) and Jaylen Minnett added 10. The Jaguars shot 59 percent (26 of 44) and made 23 of 35 free throws. Stefan Kenic led Cleveland State (6-20, 3-10) with 16 points, Tyree Appleby added 15 and Kenny Carpenter 13. IUPUI took the lead with 12 minutes left in the first half when Minnett hit a 3, and ended the half leading 33-23. The Jaguars doubled that to 20 points on an Elyjah Goss dunk with 12 minutes left in the game.

WOMEN

No. 13 Ohio State 90, Rutgers 68

Kelsey Mitchell scored 28 points on 10-of-13 shooting and reached another milestone to lead Ohio State. Mitchell, who was 5 of 6 from 3-point range, had four assists to surpass 500 for her career, making her just the fourth player in NCAA history with 3,000 points and 500 assists. Sierra Calhoun scored 17 points for the Buckeyes (20-5, 9-3 Big Ten Conference) and Linnae Harper added 15. Stephanie Mavunga had her third straight double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds, and Alexa Hart had 12 points. Ohio State took charge in the second quarter with runs of 7-0 and 12-2 to lead 51-30 at the half. The Buckeyes ended up 11 of 22 from 3-point range and shot 56 percent (32 of 57) overall. Tyler Scaife had 27 points for the Scarlet Knights (18-8, 6-6).
