SWIMMING & DIVING

Four local divers reach districts

AKRON

Three Boardman divers and one from Austintown Fitch qualified for district competition Wednesday during the girls sectional competition at the University of Akron’s Ocasek Natatorium. Boardman’s Megan Janak (319.50) was third overall in the combined North and South sections. Boardman’s Ginny Kelso (295.50) was 10th, Fitch’s Stefani Christy (287.65) was 12th nd Boardman’s Mady Ricciuti (285.15) was 13th.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Austintown Fitch 61, Lakeview 47

AUSTINTOWN

Sabria Hunter scored 20 points. Jada Lazaro had 15 and Gina DiFrancesco added 12 to lead the Falcons over the visiting Bulldogs in an All-American Conference inter-divisional matchup. Annie Pavlansky led all scorers with 27 points for Lakeview and Lindsay Carnahan added 11.

HARTVILLE

Kristen Gill scored a game-high 25 points and Imane and India Snyder combined for 29 to lead the Eagles to a road victory. Imane Snyder had a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds. India added 14 points and six steals and Taylor Jones had 14 points and eight rebounds. NeSyiah grabbed 10 rebounds for Valley Christian. Kennedy Hambert led Lake Center with 22 points and Hannah Mang had 16, including four 3-pointers.
