Man who crashed fleeing cops has 17 license suspensions

YOUNGSTOWN — Reports said a man who crashed his car Tuesday into a wooded area on the South Side while being chased by police has 17 open suspensions on his license.

Reports said police tried to pull over a car about 3:25 p.m. at Parkcliffe and Hudson avenues driven by William Allen, 31, of Idlewood Avenue, for an improper turn.

Allen failed to stop and led police on a chase across Market Street, at one point running through a snowbank on Hilton Avenue before a supervisor terminated the chase on South Avenue.

Police, however checked the side streets and spotted Allen on Palmer Avenue. Neighbors told police Allen was driving very fast, went through a stop sign at Zedaker Avenue and plowed into a tree in the woods.

Allen and his two passengers ran. Allen was caught at Shady Run Road and Midlothian Boulevard. He's charged with fleeing and eluding and driving under suspension.

Another passenger, Antwain Myers, 28, of Hudson Avenue, was charged with obstruction of justice.

A juvenile was cited for possession of marijuana after police found two bags of marijuana in his pocket.
