Man faces drug charges after leading police on chase
YOUNGSTOWN
Reports said police had to break out the window of a car and drag a man out of it that they were chasing Monday.
Homewood Avenue
Police said that at about 5:50 p.m., they tried to pull over a car driven by Joseph Hornbuckle, 32, at West Glenaven and Rosedale avenues for an expired registration, but he failed to stop, and instead led police on a chase of up to 60 miles per hour through several South Side streets.
Reports said Hornbuckle drove through a yard on Homewood Avenue and tried to go around a garage but police managed to stop him.
Officers ordered him at gunpoint to put his hands up but he refused to get out of the car. Reports said officers used their batons to break the window and dragged him out.
Inside the car police found four bags of suspected heroin and a painkiller.
Hornbuckle was taken to the Mahoning County jail on charges of fleeing and eluding, possession of heroin and possession of drugs.
