Man faces additional drug charges after jail search
YOUNGSTOWN — Reports said a man arrested Saturday on a felony possession of heroin charge picked up two more felonies after a bag of heroin was found in his pockets while he was being booked into the Mahoning County jail.
Officers pulled over a car about 2:15 p.m. at Glenwood Avenue and Cleveland Street driven by James Washington, 31, of Halleck Avenue for failure to stop at a stop sign.
A records check found Washington has several warrants and open suspensions on his license. He was taken into custody and officers found a bag of heroin when they searched his car.
At the jail another bag of heroin was found in his clothes when he was changing. Washington was charged with two counts of possession of heroin and illegal conveyance of drugs into a detention facility.
