Corbett, distance wins at invitational

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown State senior Jaynee Corbett won the weight throw and the Penguins had a strong showing in the distance events on the first day of competition at the YSU Mid-Major Invitational at the WATTS on Friday.

Corbett won the weight throw with a season-best toss of 17.90m on Friday.

YSU’s men won the 500m and the 1,000m while placing second in the 5,000m.
