Boardman man faces charges after city chase

YOUNGSTOWN —Reports said a Boardman man early Sunday had to be hauled out of his car through the driver's window after leading police on a chase on the East Side.

Reports said police tried to pull over a car about 4:50 a.m. at Logan Avenue and Hubbard Road driven by Dante Mason, 28, after he failed to yield and almost hit another car.

Reports said Mason drove the wrong way on Albert Street to elude police and then almost caused several accidents when he went through the intersection at McGuffey Road and Albert Street before he had to stop because of mechanical problems.

Mason refused to get out of the car or show his hands and officers had to pull him out through a window, reports said. He had a bag of marijuana in his pockets, reports said.

Mason was booked into the Mahoning County jail on charges of fleeing and eluding, possession of marijuana and resisting arrest.
