Rotary Club of Austintown hosts Shipka

Rotary Club of Austintown recently hosted Tom Shipka, retired Youngstown State University professor and author, as the guest speak at its January meeting. Shipka spoke about his book, “Commentaries,” which is based on his radio program that aired on WYSU from 2005 to 2015. He discussed topics during that time period, some of which are still current while others have passed from public debate. The chapter also presented a check for nearly $500 to Night To Shine, an event that provides a prom-style evening for 140 guests with special needs. Night to Shine was originated by Tim Tebow and will take place Friday and will be hosted by Highway Tabernacle and coordinated by Sandee Timmerman. The donation will cover some of the meals and tote bags for the guests.
