City police detectives are investigating a homicide and a stabbing from Thursday.

About 3 p.m., reports said a pair of detectives at a North Feederle Drive Southeast apartment complex discovered the body of Darrin Andrews, 35, of Francisca Avenue, Youngstown, in a car.

Reports said Andrews was killed, but they do not list how he died.

About 7:25 p.m., police were called to the 100 block of Porter Street NE for a report of a man stabbing people, and they found a 27-year-old man suffering from a stab wound. He was taken to Trumbull Regional Medical Center.

The Vindicator’s broadcast news partner, 21 WFMJ-TV, said a suspect in the stabbing, Shawn Flowers, 51, was caught by police about 2 p.m. Friday in the 1200 block of Dover Street and was booked into the Trumbull County jail on charges of felonious assault and domestic violence.
