A Cameron Avenue man is in the Mahoning County jail after reports said he gave a mason jar with marijuana and cocaine inside to a female passenger, who was hiding the jar between her breasts.
Officers pulled over a car about 2:20 p.m. Thursday driven by Richard Edwards, 47, for an improper turn, and he pulled into a 2224 Market St. parking lot.
A records check revealed Richards has a child-support warrant, an expired license plate and also five open suspensions on his license.
Reports said the passenger told police she had the jar and that Richards had handed it to her when he was pulled over. She gave the jar to police. Richards faces traffic citations as well as charges of possession of marijuana and possession of cocaine. Judge Carla Baldwin set his bond at $5,000 on Friday during his arraignment in municipal court.
