Was it Take-Your-Daughter-to-Jail-Day in Boardman?

BOARDMAN — A mother-daughter duo arrested Thursday night is accused of attempting to shoplift more than $700 in merchandise from a clothing store.

According to a police report, Kohl’s employee stopped Melissa Collinsworth, 33, of Bob O Link Drive, outside a fitting room, where she is accused of concealing 25 products on her person. Earlier, her daughter Maria Harbison, 15, left the store with several items in her purse, and was stopped in the parking lot, the report said.

Collinsworth is charged with theft and contributing to the unruliness or delinquency or a child, and Harbison faces a theft offense, pending notification from Juvenile Justice Court.

Collinsworth was released on court summons, and has a court hearing Tuesday.
