Illegal re-entry case

A Mexican citizen arrested in Austintown faces federal charges for re-entering the country after his deportation.

A federal indictment charges Jose Uribe Perez, 30, of Belmont Avenue with illegal re-entry, which is punishable by imprisonment.

Immigration officials deported Perez to Mexico on July 12, 2016, according to the indictment.

It says he was found in the country Dec. 31, 2017, though he had not received consent to re-enter the country.

Court records show the Ohio State Highway Patrol stopped Perez on New Year’s Eve and charged him with operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
