Beaver Creek Sportsman Club, 14480 Washingtonville Road, will offer beer-battered haddock fish or shrimp dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. every Friday beginning today to March 30. The cost for adults is $11 and $6 for children age 10 and under. Dinners include fresh-cut fries, coleslaw and choice of green beans or corn. An extra fillet (with dinner purchase) is $5 and shrimp a la carte (approximately 16 pieces) is $6. Soda, water, coffee and dessert will be available for $1.

Church to host breakfast Sunday

PULASKI, PA.

St. James the Apostle Church, 4019 state Route 422, will host John’s breakfast brunch from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. Menu includes french toast, sweet cheese filling, buttermilk and buckwheat pancakes with a choice of maple or peach syrup, and scrambled eggs or eggs scrambled with peppers, onions and cheese; home fries, bacon, sausage, ham, toast, fresh cinnamon rolls, hot and cold cereals, coffee, tea, juices and milk. Cost is $9 for adults and $4 for children.

Church to host spaghetti dinner

Richard Brown United Methodist Church, 1205 Elm St., will host the Sojourn to the Past spaghetti dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children under age 12.

Sojourn to the Past is a seven day trip to the Civil Rights Sites in the South. Eleven Youngstown high school students will leave March 31 traveling to Atlanta, Selma, Montgomery and Birmingham. This program is to teach the students the principles of the Civil Rights Movement, such as forgiveness, hope, compassion, justice, civic responsibility, nonviolence, not being a silent witness and to stand up for what is right and just.

St. John the Baptist Church to sell haluski

The Cultural Society of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 159 Reed Ave., will be selling cabbage or cottage cheese haluski for $6 per quart for Ash Wednesday. Orders may be placed from Monday through Feb. 12 by calling the church hall at 330-755-0036 or Terry at 330-755-3540. Leave your name, phone number and whether you want cabbage or cottage cheese haluski and how many quarts are needed. Orders can be picked up from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Feb. 13 and from 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 14.

Library to show movie

LISBON

With the upcoming Winter Olympics, Lepper Library, 303 E. Lincoln Way, will be showing the movie “Cool Runnings” through Netflix at 6 p.m. Thursday. The movie is about a Jamaican sprinter who gets disqualified from the Olympic games and enlists the help of a dishonored coach to start the first Jamaican bobsled team. The movie is based on a true story and is rated PG. Snacks will be served. Call the library at 330-424-3117 to register.

Association to host Valentine dinner

The Mahoning & Shenango Valley Deacons Association will host its annual valentine dinner at 3 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Embassy Banquet Centre, 5030 Youngstown-Poland Road. The guest speaker will be the Rev. James Bowie, pastor of Greater Friendship Baptist Church. Deacon Darrell McGee is president and event chairman. Two area high school seniors, Bonai Doris of Sharon High School and Emmanuel Armour of Valley Christian High School, will be awarded $1,000 scholarships for academic achievements.
