Work continues to clean up sludge spill in Hubbard


HUBBARD — Officials are working to contain sludge that is leaking out if a tanker that was ruptured shortly after 6 a.m. Thursday behind the Love's gas station.

Kent Kelley, assistant chief, Eagle Joint Fire District, said the substance is tar-like. About 2,000 gallons may have been leaked from the tanker.

The fire department, Haz-Mat, the Hubbard Road Department and the EPA are on the scene to contain the spill.
