WDFC Theatrical to present ‘The Nerd’

WDFC Theatrical Productions will present the comedy “The Nerd” at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Union Hall, 547 Prospect St.

Tickets are $12 and can be purchased at the door or in advance by emailing WDFCtheatricalproductions@mail.com.

The cast includes Carly

Ellis, Jacob Henry, Tara Lee Holl, Josh Lankford, Ryan Newell, Olivia Pine and Matthew Schomer.

Set in Terre Haute, Ind., in late 1979, “The Nerd” centers on

Willum, a young architect

who is visited by Rick Steadman, a fellow ex-GI whom he has never met but who saved has life after he was seriously wounded in Vietnam.

Willum is delighted when Rick shows up unexpectedly at his apartment on the night of his 34th birthday party.

However, Rick’s awkward manner and inappropriate behavior throw the occasion into shambles.
