St. Lucy to host pasta fagioli dinner

St. Lucy Church, 394 Tenney Ave. is taking orders for pasta fagioli from 7 to 10 a.m. today and Friday. Cost is $5 per quart. Containers are provided or patrons may take their own.

Pizza at $9 for a sheet, and bread at $3 for a 11/2 pound loaf will also be available for purchase. To place an order, call 330-755-2245. Pickup will take place from noon to 3 p.m. Friday. They will not be serving fish dinners.

Salem Community Center to host event

Salem Community Center, Salem Rotary and Salem Kiwanis Club will host the Feed the Salem Community Pantry Fat Tuesday fundraising event from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Salem Community Center, 1098 N. Ellsworth Ave. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children age 12 and under.

Any area businesses or individuals interested in participating as a “Celebrity Chef” must reserve a table by Friday. Chefs must provide their own Fat Tuesday recipe (small samples to feed 75-100), their own warming device (non-electric) and a server for the table.

A sign with the vendor name and the name of your business will be provided by our organization and displayed on the table.

Tickets may be purchased at the Salem Community Center or from members of the Rotary or Kiwanis. For ticket information or to reserve a table, call the center at 330-332-5885.

Scouts to celebrate 108th anniversary

Boys Scouts of America 108th anniversary of Scouting will take place Saturday through Feb. 11, which includes various Cub Scout Packs and Boy Scout Troops.

Cub Scout Pack and Boy Scout Troop 115 will participate in the 4:30 p.m. Saturday Mass at St. Michael Church in Canfield. Members of Cub scout Pack 114 will be recognized and participate in the 10:45 a.m. Mass Sunday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Boardman.

They also will serve a free breakfast to all church members from 8 a.m. to noon.

Cub Scout Pack 25 and Boy Scout Troop 25 will take part in the Arrow of Light Ceremony, a cross-over from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts, at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 10 and 4:30 p.m. Feb. 11 at Canfield United Methodist Church.
