Howland woman gets probation for role in 2017 shooting

WARREN — Tina M. Davis of Howland, who assisted Richard Latimer a short time after Latimer killed a Mineral Ridge man and a short time before Latimer was killed by Howland police Feb. 7, 2017, was sentenced to five years' probation today.

Davis, 34, of Stillwagon Road, pleaded guilty in December to one count of tampering with evidence for taking Latimer, 34, of Mines Road of Howland to the Dollar General store on East Market Street to get paper towels and bleach after Latimer killed Van Blevins, 44.

Judge Ronald Rice of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court also ordered Davis to perform 200 hours of community service and have a curfew. She could get up to 36 months in prison if she violates the terms of her probation.

Howland police shot and killed Latimer in the Giant Eagle parking lot in Howland after he left Davis' house to meet up with other friends. Latimer was using Davis' car and had a gun with him that Davis had loaned her earlier that day.
