1993: The Woodside Inpatient Futures Committee releases a 25-page report recommending that patients at the psychiatric hospital on Youngstown’s South Side be shifted to private caregivers and the hospital be closed.

This is the last day of full production at the Sealy Stearns & Foster furniture plant in Columbiana. The company, which has been in business since 1921, manufactured sofa beds.
