The Campmasters of local Boy Scout Camp Stambaugh of the Great Trail Council Boy Scouts of America hosted a Breakfast with Santa on Dec. 15.

The event was planned to give children in the community an opportunity to have breakfast with Santa in a camp setting and enjoy a morning at camp. Attendees enjoyed a pancake breakfast, including sausage, eggs, fruit, coffee, hot chocolate and milk.

Parents could take pictures of their children with Santa and the children received a special goody bag.

According to Chief Campmaster Brad Lang, the event is a service for families.

“We wanted to provide a service for families and wanted to start off the season with the scouting spirit. There’s no better way to start off the season. It’s nice for the scouts to come down and enjoy this breakfast centered around family. The money we raise today will go to the Budget Committee and they will distribute it to various programs, such as scholarships, and will distribute the funds wherever they are needed,” Lang said.

The breakfast had more than 200 people attend. Several volunteers helped with all aspects of the event, including working in the kitchen and servicing tables.
