HUBBARD
Dec. 21
Arrest: A traffic stop on West Liberty Street resulted in the arrest of Rakeem H. Thompson, 28, of Lenox Avenue, Youngstown. He was wanted on a bench warrant charging failure to appear in Youngstown Municipal Court.
Criminal mischief: An Elizabeth Street man reported several Christmas decorations in his yard had sustained damage.
Summons: After pulling her over on West Liberty Street, police charged Laurie J. Marino, 57, of Shaulis Court, Girard, with driving under two noncompliance suspensions.
Dec. 22
Arrest: Officers were dispatched to the Mahoning County jail to pick up Kali J. Desimone, 22, of Center Drive, North Lima, who was accused of failing to appear for an arraignment on a charge of possessing drug paraphernalia.
Arrest: Campbell police relinquished custody of Nichole B. Duddy, 28, of Princess Street, Campbell, to Hubbard authorities. Duddy was wanted on a warrant charging failure to comply with a court order.
Theft: A man reportedly stole two $20 packages of undergarments from Dollar General, 886 W. Liberty St., before leaving in a red Pontiac vehicle.
LIBERTY
Dec. 21
Overdose: Officers answered a call pertaining to a possible drug overdose in the 600 block of Mansell Drive, where a 39-year-old man was found deceased in a bedroom. Also found in the residence were several straws coated with a brown substance and a piece of paper with the same or similar material, a report stated.
Domestic violence: After receiving information that a man was threatening household members, officers charged James F. Kovach, 61, of Fifth Avenue, Youngstown, with domestic violence and aggravated menacing. His father and sister alleged Kovach had threatened to shoot and kill everyone in the home, then himself, a report showed.
Menacing: A Sodom-Hutchings Road woman alleged a Tallmadge man, 68, has sent her numerous unwanted text messages and may have pulled into a neighbor’s driveway to watch the accuser.
Drugs: A traffic stop near Belmont Avenue and Interstate 80 led to the arrest of Charles T. Jones, 26, on charges of drug abuse and driving under suspension when, police alleged, the Canton man had several bags of suspected marijuana in the vehicle’s door frame and an additional one in the center console area. Also found in the car was a straw with burn marks common in drug use, a report indicated.
Menacing: Two employees with Belmont Pines Hospital, 615 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, alleged a Johnstown, Pa., woman threatened to return to smack the accusers when she was informed that a doctor at the facility would no longer treat her juvenile son.
Dec. 22
Arrest: Youngstown police in the 2700 block of Belmont Avenue handed to township authorities Timothy M. Williams, 48, of Annawan Lane, Boardman, who was wanted on a warrant charging failure to appear in court.
Arrest: Officers at the Mahoning County jail took custody of Teanisha S. Mitchell of Salt Springs Road, Youngstown. Mitchell, 40, was wanted on several misdemeanor and felony warrants.
Theft: A $1,200 laptop computer and a loaded magazine were removed from a car in the 1100 block of Academy Drive.
Dec. 23
Arrest: While dealing with a disturbance at the Liberty Plaza on Belmont Avenue, officers took Cassandra Santiago, 24, into custody. Santiago, of Shehy Street, Youngstown, was wanted on a Warren warrant accusing her of failing to appear in court on criminal-damaging and endangering-children charges.
Burglary: Authorities filed burglary charges against Daquan R. Owens, 19, of Pinehurst Circle, Liberty, and Da’Jauan Moore, 19, of Akron after having received a call that two men were trying to break into a Pinehurst Circle residence via a rear window, which was found open. Evidence seized during their arrests near Logan Way Avenue included a small flashlight and a damaged claw hammer before the homeowner positively identified Moore and Owens as the men who had tried to enter her home, a report indicated.
Domestic violence: A charge was pending against an Akron man, 31, after a Logan Gate Road woman alleged he pushed her backward and over a chair, then pushed the accuser into a Christmas tree. The victim was found with a red and slightly swollen cheek, police said.
Violating a protection order: A Girard woman told police a Girard man, 30, against whom she had filed a protection order slowly drove past and stared at the accuser at a Belmont Avenue grocery store.
Domestic violence: Megan E. Cameron of Townsend Avenue, Liberty, was charged with the crime after her child’s father alleged that during a dispute, Cameron, 33, threw a bottle of water as well as punches at him.
Dec. 24
Arrest: After responding to a possible fight at Walmart, 200 Goldie Road, officers took Brittany Robinson, 25, of Parkwood Drive, Youngstown, into custody upon discovering Robinson was wanted on a Trumbull County Sheriff’s Department warrant.
Theft: A Logan Way Avenue woman noticed a $900 snow blower missing from the garage.
Dec. 25
Recovered property: A $1,500 dirt bike that belongs to a Bradford, Pa., man was found in a wooded area in the 1100 block of Tibbetts-Wick Road.
GIRARD
Dec. 21
Attempted breaking and entering: Someone reportedly broke a garage window and a padlock to a door in an effort to break into a garage in the 900 block of Washington Avenue, though no entry was made.
Harassment: A North Avenue woman alleged her brother threatened in a voicemail message to kill her and beat up the accuser’s husband.
Dec. 22
Aggravated menacing: A Girard woman showed police a Facebook message that purportedly contained a threat to kill her.
Citation: James E. Maxim Jr., 47, was charged with operating a vehicle impaired after having been pulled over near East Liberty Street. Maxim, of Indiana Avenue, McDonald, refused to submit to a breath test, a report showed.
Theft: An East Main Street woman discovered a debit card had been stolen, and that an expected $672 deposit on her Social Security card was never made.
Dec. 23
Arrest: After responding to a disturbance at a U.S. Route 422 fast-food restaurant, officers charged Dominic D. Romeo, 31, of Morris Avenue, Girard, with disorderly conduct. A manager reported two men were fighting in the parking lot; also, a third party alleged that while trying to end the altercation, Romeo grabbed his shirt and swung at him.
Dec. 25
Violation of a protection order: A Church Hill Road woman told police her former husband contacted her via Facebook in violation of such an order she had filed against him.
Overdose: Police responded to a possible drug overdose in the 200 block of South Market Street, where a woman reportedly had intentionally ingested more than 20 pills in a suicide attempt. She was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Harassment: A 17-year-old Girard boy alleged his father threatened to come after him and some of the accuser’s friends if the victim failed to give him money.
Dec. 26
Theft: A man alleged another man ransacked the accuser’s Smithsonian Street residence and stole a $20 bicycle lock.
