Winter Wonder Days at science center

CLEVELAND

Winter Wonder Days at Great Lakes Science Center will take place Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

It’s a mix of science and fun for the family. A New Year’s Eve balloon drop will take place at 2:19 p.m. Sunday.

Visitors also will see the explosive results of experiments in the CryoBlast Big Science Show, and discover what happens when extremes of hot and cold meet in the Fire and Ice Big Science Show.

Other attractions include the Water WonderLAB; an engineering design challenge inspired by the popular game “Fortnite,” carpet skating and science experiments.

All Winter Wonder Days activities are included with the price of general admission.

‘Memories’ exhibit has First Night hours

YOUNGSTOWN

The “Memories of Christmas Past” exhibition at the Arms Family Museum, 648 Wick Ave. will be open for special New Year’s Eve twilight hours from 4 to 8 p.m.

Paul Goon Ltd. will present the New Year Music Festival at 3 p.m. Jan. 5 at the Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road, featuring the Turbos, Obsidian Earth, Where’s Winona Now, Grizzzly, the VVilderness, Nuivaj the Entourage, Teeth Ledger and Pilot the Mind. Admission is $10.
