Library will offer class in social media

SALEM

Salem Public Library, 821 E. State St., will offer its “Social Media and Photo Sharing” class at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 3 in the Quaker Room. The hour-long class will be led by technology instructor Kathy Bennett. Attendees are encouraged to take a laptop computer or tablet in order to save classroom work if possible as the number of library devices may be limited. Seating is limited and registration is required. Online registration can be done at www.salem.lib.oh.us or call the library at 330-332-0042 for assistance. The class is for adults and free to attend. The class is provided through a Guiding Ohio Online grant made possible by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the State Library of Ohio.

Blackburn Home receives two grants

The Blackburn Home recently received the Ruth Beecher Charitable Grant from PNC Bank, which allowed them to provide free Wi-Fi throughout the home. They also received a grant from the Youngstown Foundation which will allow the home to retrofit their walkway/ramp and make it ADA compliant in the spring of 2019.
