Thompsons mark 50th anniversary with family

The Rev. Mack S. and Charlene Thompson of Youngstown recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends during a renewal of their vows at the William McKinley Memorial in Niles.

The couple’s children are Jacqueline C. Brown of Campbell, Kendra D. Morgan of Liberty and Stephen J. Thompson of Youngstown. Six grandchildren, Kyree, Kyler, Bryce, Brooklyn, Breyelle and Braxtyn, complete the family.

Mr. Thompson married the former Charlene Johnson on June 22, 1968, at Valley Baptist Church in Niles.

Mrs. Thompson worked in the production department at CSC Steel in Warren.

Her husband worked at Delphi Packard in Warren before retiring in 2001. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

The couple were presented a key to the city by Mayor Jamael Tito Brown.

They attend Mount Olive Baptist Church in Warren, where Mr. Thompson is an associate pastor.
