Christmas Eve services

boardman: Boardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St., will have candlelight services with communion at 4 and 6:30 p.m., and a candlelight service without communion at 10:30 p.m. The 10:30 service features guest speaker Bob Fry.

boardman: St. Charles Borromeo Church, 7345 Westview Drive, will have Christmas Eve Masses at 4 and 7 p.m..

brookfield: Brookfield United Methodist Church, 6951 Grove St., will have candlelight services at 7 and 10 p.m..

GIRARD: St. Rose Church, 48 E. Main St., will have Christmas Eve services at 4 and 6 p.m. and midnight Mass.

Girard: First Presbyterian Church, 890 Churchill Road, will have a Christmas Eve service at 8 p.m. All are welcome.

north lima: The North Lima Mennonite Church, 90 Mennonite Drive, will have a Christmas Eve candle-lighting service at 5:30 p.m.

hubbard: Hubbard Church of the Nazarene, 1815 Cherry Lane Drive SE, will have a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 6 p.m.

hubbard: Coalburg United Methodist Church, 1906 Wick Campbell Road, will have a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 7 p.m.

canfield: Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 550 N. Broad St., will have candlelight services at 5 and 7:30 p.m.

canfield: Canfield Christian Church, 123 S. Broad St., will have a candlelight service at 6 p.m. They will accept nonperishable food items wrapped in white paper that will then be donated to local agencies to help the needy.

Youngstown: Faith Community Covenant Church, 1919 E. Midlothian Blvd., will have communion from 3:20 to 3:50 p.m., special music from 3:30 to 4 p.m., and the candlelight service will begin at 4 p.m.

Kwanzaa celebrations

youngstown: New Bethel Baptist Church, 1507 Hillman St., will host a Kwanzaa celebration at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. There will be music, dancing, cultural expression, African-American vendors and a community feast. Bring a covered dish.

youngstown: Beulah Baptist Church, 570 Sherwood Ave., will host a Kwanzaa celebration at 6 p.m. Friday. There will be dancers, readings and talks on the principles of Kwanzaa. The public is welcome to attend.

youngstown: Holy Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, 505 Parkcliff Ave., will host a Kwanzaa celebration at 3 p.m. Dec. 30, featuring ministerial interpretations of the Nguzo Saba, music, choirs and cultural expression.

YOUNGSTOWN: Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, 328 S. Forest St., will host a Kwanzaa celebration for area churches at 4 p.m. Dec. 30. There will be singing, miming, reading and praise dancing. The church also will have a community New Year’s Eve service at 10 p.m. Dec. 31.
