CHS swimmers compete against GlenOak
The Canfield High School swim teams came in second against GlenOak on Dec. 13. Boys swimmers who won first place were Rob DiDomenico in the 200 and 500 freestyle events, Jason Paris in the 50 and 100 freestyle events, the 200 freestyle relay team of Bobby Kutsch, James Dietz, Matthew Peckman and Paris), Connor Fritz in the 100 backstroke and the 400 freestyle relayteam of Kutsch, J. Dietz, Peckman and Paris. Girls swimmers who won first place were Sydney Schuler in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke events and Elle Dawson in the 100 breaststroke.
CHS swimmers take first place
The swim teams at Canfield High School competes against Alliance on Dec. 11 and came away with both boys and girls teams in first. First place swimmers for the Canfield boys were the 200 medley relay team of Connor Fritz, Luke Dietz, Rob DiDomenico and Matthew Peckman, Rob DiDomenico in the 200 freestyle, Jason Paris in the 50 freestyle, James Dietz in the 100 butterfly, Jason Paris and Matthew Peckman in a tie in the 100 freestyle, Bobby Kutsch in the 500 freestyle and the 200 freestyle relay team of Kutsch, J. Dietz, Peckman and Paris. The girls team was wildly successful at the meet, taking home the top two or three places in several events. First place finishes were earned by the 200 medley relay team of Miranda Peckman, Jordan Helmick, Elle Dawson and Sydney Schuler, Theresa Wasylychyn in the 200 freestyle, Sarah Klepec in the 200 individual medley and 500 freestyle, Sydney Schuler in the 50 and 100 freestyle events, Jordan Helmick in the 100 butterfly, the 200 freestyle relay team of Schuler, Dawson, Helmick and Miranda Peckman, Elle Dawson in the 100 backstroke, Brenna Brocker in the 100 breaststroke and the 400 freestyle relay team of Wasylychyn, Kristin Shelley, Madison Peckman and Isabella Kelty.
CHS competes in NEAC relay meet
The Canfield High School swimmers competed in a NEAC relay meet on Dec. 8. The Canfield boys took home third place out of eight teams while the girls came in fifth. The boys 100 freestyle relay team of Bobby Kutsch, James Dietz, Rob DiDomenico and Jason Paris came in second with a meet record-breaking time of 43.24. The boys 200 backstroke relay team of Matthew Peckman, Connor Fritz, Nick Colonna and Luke Dietz took first place. First place eluded the girls swimmers, but the 200 backstroke relay team of Sydney Schuler, Sarah Klepec, Elle Dawson and Miranda Peckman came home with second.
Swimmers take second in tri-meet
The swim teams at Canfield High School competed in a tri-meet against Boardman and Massillon Washington on Dec. 7 at Massillon Washington. Both teams finished in second place with scores of 92. For the boys, Jason Paris took first place in the 50 freestyle. The Canfield 400 freestyle relay team of Bobby Kutsch, James Dietz, Rob DiDomenico and Paris also saw first place victory. First place finishes eluded the girls team.
CHS swimmers compete in quad meet
The Canfield High School swim team competed in their first meet of the 2018-19 season at the NEAC quad meet against Boardman, Warren and Wooster. They finished in third place with team scores of 122 for the boys and 92 for the girls. The meet took place at Youngstown State University on Dec. 1. First place finishes eluded both boys and girls teams, but second place finishes were earned by the boys 200 medley relay team of Connor Fritz, Joe Klepec, Rob DiDomenico and Matthew Peckman; Jason Paris (boys 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle); the boys 200 freestyle relay team if Bobby Kutsch, James Dietz, Peckman and Paris; and Sydney Schuler (girls 200 freestyle).
