Beatitude House names winners


YOUNGSTOWN

The Beatitude House Ursuline Sisters Scholars recently announced three new scholarships and their recipients at the annual Scholars Holiday Luncheon. An additional five scholarships from Youngstown State University’s College of Health and Human Services also were announced.

The scholarships were awarded to Jonathan Thomas, who is studying paralegal at Eastern Gateway Community College. He received The Comerford Fund for Scholars, $1,000; Luz Castillo, a nursing student at Mercy College of Ohio who received The Ursuline Sisters Fund for Scholars, $1,000; and Cierra Pruitt-Eiland, a psychology major at Kent State University – Trumbull, who was awarded $500.

The five YSU scholarship recipients were Sarah Hammett, $2,000; Rayanna McGuire, $2,000; Kaelyn Snyder, $1,000; Keivunia Wallace, $950; and Desiray Hampton, $900.
