Boardman High jazz concert

BOARDMAN

The annual Boardman High School holiday jazz concert will take place Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Boardman Performing Arts Center, 7777 Glenwood Ave. The school’s three jazz ensembles will perform a mix of holiday selections and jazz standards.

Admission is free. The ensembles are under the direction of Thomas M. Ruggieri. For information, go to boardmanband.org.

Oakland auditions for ‘Flat Stanley’

Alabama 2019 tour includes Pittsburgh

NASHVILLE, Tenn.

Country band Alabama will mark its 50th year together with a tour in 2019 that includes a March 15 concert at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh.

The Grammy-winning trio of Randy Owen, Teddy Gentry and Jef Cook formed in 1969 in Fort Payne, Alabama, and went on to dominate the sound of country music in the 1980s, scoring dozens of No. 1 hits, including classics like “Mountain Music” and “Dixieland Delight.”
