Brantley signs 2-year deal with Astros


Free agent outfielder Michael Brantley agreed to a two-year, $32 million deal with the Houston Astros. The deal was announced Monday through multiple outlets.

Brantley hit .309 with 17 home runs and 76 RBIs as a member of the Cleveland Indians last season. He played in 143 games after being limited to 101 during the 2016 and 2017 season due to surgeries on his right shoulder and ankle.

The three-time All-Star played 10 seasons with the Indians and finished third in MVP voting and won a Silver Slugger in 2014.

In 1,051 games with Cleveland, the 31-year-old hit .295 with 87 home runs, 528 RBIs and stole 118 bases.
