Boardman High School student members of the school’s television network won a video competition hosted by the Ohio School Board Association.

The contest was called “Stand up for public schools” and was entered by 63 schools across Ohio.

“This is the most entries they have every received for the contest,” said Amy Radinovic, the schools communication coordinator.

This is the seventh year the OSBA hosted the competition.

Boardman students traveled to Columbus on Nov. 12 to accept the award.

Prizes included $750 that goes to the BSTN program.

“They were honored at the student fair, and each got a chance to say something at the podium,” Radinovic said.

Boardman students created a video which included personal interviews with Boardman students and other shots from around the school.

“Boardman’s video was played in front of thousands of educators at the General Session on Tuesday,” Radinovic said.

According to OSBA, approximately 9,000 school board members, administrators and school personnel attended the event.
