Students entering C.H. Campbell Elementary School’s library to shop at the Scholastic book fair were met with scenes from an Enchanted Forest the week of Nov. 12.

With the theme ‘Enchanted Forest - Let Your Imagination Grow, Read,’ the library was transformed into a fairy tale forest, complete with trees, flowers, animals, unicorns, a well with running water, butterflies, birds and a castle.

C.H. Campbell Elementary School librarian/media specialist Patti Hockensmith said the decorating was a group effort of many PTA mothers and volunteers.

The students attended the book fair during their scheduled library times, browsing through a variety of books, including series, “Star Wars,” collections, graphic novels, creative fun, entertainment, science, reference, nonfiction, bestsellers and sports books. Students could also purchase bookmarks, pencils, novelty erasers, journals, pens, stickers, posters and more.

Parents and grandparents were invited to the book fair to help the students shop. The book fair also offered adult bestsellers for the parents and grandparents who attended the fair.

Students could also purchase books for their teacher’s classroom through the Buy a Teacher a Book program.

Members of the school’s PTA worked the checkout during the fair and were also available to help the children pick out books.

Proceeds from the book fair are used to buy books for the school’s library.
