Busy weekend awaits Phantoms

The Youngstown Phantoms’ only three-game homestand of the season will be full of festive promotions.

The Phantoms will entertain the Chicago Steel for Red Kettle Weekend on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Covelli Centre. The first two games will begin at 7 p.m. while the finale will start at 5 p.m.

Friday’s promotions include Ugly Sweater Night and a discount for GM workers in Lordstown whose plant will be closing in March. Fans who mention GM when ordering ticket will trigger a $2 donation per ticket to the UAW and receive a free popcorn voucher.

Fans wearing ugly sweaters will be eligible to receive a voucher good for a ticket to future game.

The first Teddy Bear Toss since the 2014-15 season will be conducted on Saturday. Fans are encouraged to bring a teddy bear to toss on the ice when the Phantoms score their first goal. Bears will be donated to local children in need.

Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will be available for photos from 6-9 p.m.

Also Saturday, the Phantoms will honor the Girard High School football team that finished Division IV state runner-up.

Fans wearing a holiday hat to Sunday’s game will receive a discount offer in the team shop.
